It snowed again.

What a wonderful trip. We really enjoyed seeing Craig, Kim, and the kids. The islands are beautiful. The climate great. And a lot of nice people.

The way home was another story. After our plane got to Hawaii it took 40 + minutes to get it cleaned up. Someone in first class had gotten sick. We left 40 minutes late.

We are just about 200 miles from Salt Lake city and our plane is deferred to Boise to refuel so that we can circle Salt Lake if need. The runways had been closed by a storm.
After sitting on the tarmac in Boise for 3 hour they are finally ready to fly us back to SLC. We arrive and sit for at least 20 minutes (I really think it was longer but when you are as tired as we were who knows)before our luggage comes.

Now we are heading home. Calvin drives about 50 mph on the snow packed roads. We are to Bothwell. Hurrah!

Or did I speak to soon? The bridge a half a mile from home is closed so we take the road passed Jame's house. We get to the corner and get stuck trying to turn down our road, but are able to back out and go further down the road toward the potato sheds. At least this road looks as if it has been cleared. Just past the corner the snow has drifted so we turn around and head down the road between the Marbles and the potato shed. It really looks better than the road to our home. About 1/4 mile in we get high centered on the snow.

5:00 a.m. December 26th we decide to call Brad, who is home, to come and rescue us. It was that or walk home 1 1/2 miles in 19 degree temperature with a wind chill factor of who knows what.

Brad comes to the rescue after unhooking the trailer from dad's truck. He gets stuck going down our road but is able to get it unstuck and plow through the snow drift in the truck. As we watch him we notice he is going quite slow.

Calvin walks to the corner and has Brad back in. Then there is no place to hook on to the Toyota with the chain. Finally they hook it to the axle and pull the car back to the corner. We park the car at Byron Nelsons and ride home with Brad in the truck. It is now 6 a.m. Dec. 26th.

We are really glad to be home in a warm house.

We miss Craig, Kim, the kids and warm 80 degree weather.
