It's done

I took the latest quilt to the quilter. Hurrah!!!! I have been doing late nights to get it done. 5:30 a.m. to be exact ( I guess I should say early mornings).

My quilter said to get the quilt to her but it wasn't done. So I was desperate!

I have cut out most of Courtney's quilt. I don't know why I am so slow. I love to do it. I think the real problem is that when I get stuck things just stop.

I guess I need to be a finisher. I am great at starting and I love the process, but somehow I am a poor finisher.

I hope that is not true in the eternities.

I am going to have a contest for my grandchildren. It is going to be a Book of Mormon contest. You can read or have your parents read to you to qualify. There can be more than one winner. In order to be a winner you must read every day the number of verses equal to your age in years. The starting date is August 1 2008 and the contest will run until the day of conference (This is our trial run). I am thinking about what the prizes should be and you need to report once a week in the comment section for the latest blog. Send any suggestions for prizes there too.

Love ya all,

Grandma Avon

Summers end

Summer is quickly coming to an end. School starts for me on the 18th of August. I have mixed feeling about the end of summer. I haven't completed all the projects I planned on finishing.

I haven't gone all the places I planned to go either. Maybe I need to get better organized.

The plan was to get 7 quilts done and to visit Steve and Jill and Craig and Kim. I have finished almost 2 quilts and a third one is started.

We purchased a new lawn mower this year. I love it I can do my yard in about 30 minutes. The lawn has bugs I believe. So there is not as much to mow. I guess I need to get something to spray on it. When I mow I get less than one bag full.

I have seen some new birds this year. right outside my window. We had one that would tap on the window. Dad said he was going to kill that bird if it didn't stop taping on the window. It was quite loud :).

Hope all is well with you all.

Love,

Mom :P
